About Rimma Maddox
Hi! I’m Dr. Rimma Maddox: life, balance, and wellness coach.
My path to coaching was shaped by my life experiences. I earned a doctorate from a top research university, taught high school students in an underrepresented community, conducted research at one of nation’s top children’s hospitals, and became a certified yoga teacher. Each step helped me understand people, purpose, and growth. After having my third child, I realized that if I were going to be away from my family, my work needed to reflect what most deeply motivates me: guiding people through growth, change, and self-discovery.
That kind of work felt truly aligned with my values, who I am, and what I want to contribute, and I obtained my life coach certification. Coaching is the natural intersection of my skills, values, and lived experiences: a way to do meaningful work that’s deeply connected to who I am.
On a more personal note, I’m a proud mom of three beautiful boys, wife to a brilliant man with the best sense of humor, and a dedicated yogini. I’m a passionate reader, an enthusiastic dancer, and someone who finds peace gazing at the vastness of the ocean. I adore flowers, chocolate, local coffee shops, salsa dancing, and traveling.
If you’re ready to rediscover yourself and create a life filled with balance, joy, and purpose, I’d love to connect.
Let’s get started. The life you desire is waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is one-on-one coaching important?
I’ve always loved cozy coffee shops and curling up with a good positive psychology book, thinking, “This is it! I know what to do now—my life is going to change!” But, as inspiring as those moments were, it wasn’t until I worked with a life coach that things really started shifting.
There’s something truly magical about having someone fully present with you, asking powerful questions, and helping you tune into your truth. It’s not about someone telling you what to do (like books often try to). Coaching gives you the space to figure out what’s really important to you and what steps feel right—then, together, we create a path forward that actually works in your life.
Why would I pay for coaching if I can just talk to a friend, my partner, or a sibling?
I totally get this—I’m an extrovert and I love deep, meaningful conversations with friends and family. Those heart-to-hearts are so special. But here’s the thing: when you’re trying to figure out something big or make a real change, friends and loved ones (even with the best intentions) often can’t help but sprinkle in their own advice, experiences, and opinions.
Coaching is different. It’s a space just for you—no judgment, no unsolicited advice—where your thoughts, feelings, and dreams take center stage. You get to explore your own answers, trust your inner voice, and decide what’s truly right for you.
How is coaching different from therapy?
This is such an important question—and honestly, one I struggled to answer clearly until I heard this perfect analogy in coaching school (Life Purpose Institute):
A therapist is like an archaeologist, helping you dig deep into your past to understand and heal. A coach, on the other hand, is like an architect, helping you design and build the life you want moving forward.
Therapy is essential for working through past wounds and mental health challenges, while coaching is all about where you are now and where you want to go. We focus on your goals, dreams, and actionable steps to create the life you’re envisioning.
